After leaking earlier this year, the LEGO Game Boy is not only real, but it’s impressively accurate.
This homage to handheld gaming’s past might not be playable, but you’d be forgiven for thinking it at a glance, with swappable cartridges and plenty of detail. It’s up for pre-order now, too, so you can snap one up for £54.99.

The LEGO Game Boy is available from Amazon and LEGO’s own storefront at the moment, but expect more retailers to follow suit in the run up to launch on October 1.
Wherever you buy it from, you’re getting a “near 1:1 scale replica model” of the system, with a stand to display it on. It’s comprised of 421 pieces, meaning it’s ideal for novice builders and experts alike. My son is just about old enough to start playing Switch titles, and I’m tempted to pick this up for us to build together since I don’t have a classic Game Boy to show him the heft of older consoles.
