The Festering Fang world quest in Genshin Impact gives players the chance to earn the Dragonspine Spear, a Polearm that was added to the game as part of the Dragonspine update. Before travelers can get their hands on this weapon, they must first collect several items at the behest of an NPC named Orban. One of the items that players will need to track down for this Genshin Impact quest is the Strange Tooth, which is scattered around the region.

Updated on September 27, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah: The Dragonspine Spear is an F2P weapon that anyone can get in Genshin Impact by completing a quest in Dragonspine. You need to collect materials from the same region, Starsilver for instance, and might have to open some chests or complete other quests to earn Mora, as it’s part of the requirements. But first, players need to look for four Strange Tooth and obtain a Northlander Polearm Prototype as well, and the Dragonspine Spear can be crafted to complete the Festering Fang quest.

Strange Tooth Locations In Genshin Impact

The four Strange Teeth in Genshin Impact are all located in Dragonspine, with three of them situated in the northern portion of the region and one to the southeast. Follow these steps to reach each Dragon Tooth easily:

  • Strange Tooth 1: Look for torches; there will be a tooth nearby.
  • Strange Tooth 2: Look for a small island and be careful of the enemies.
  • Strange Tooth 3: Inside Wyrmrest Valley’s cave surrounded by red energy.
  • Strange Tooth 4: Near the water on the ground guarded by an enemy.

Players will need to collect several more Strange Teeth and Vitalized Dragonteeth in order to fully refine their Dragonspine Spear. Thankfully, the teeth respawn in each of these four locations every two days or so. This will help to collect more teeth and get players ever closer to the fully-realized Dragonspine Spear.

Starsilver Location For The Festering Fang Quest In Genshin Impact

As previously mentioned, Strange Tooth is not the only item that players will need to collect for the Festering Fang quest, as they will also need to obtain a Northlander Polearm Prototype in Genshin Impact. This prototype can be earned in the Spiral Abyss or by leveling up the Frostbearing Tree, and indeed, it plays a major role in the construction of the Dragonspine Spear.

Furthermore, players must collect a reasonable quantity of Starsilver Ore for this quest, and the northern perimeter of Dragonspine is perhaps the easiest place to find it. The beaches in that area are home to a number of Starsilver deposits, and travelers that visit them should have little trouble getting all the ore that they need. That said, the resource is certainly not exclusive to north Dragonspine, as players can find it scattered across the region.

How To Complete The Festering Fang Quest In Genshin Impact

After collecting all of these items, players will be instructed to fill one of the Strange Teeth with vitality, and that requires a return trip to the Wyrmrest Valley’s cave. This time around, you will stumble into a battle with several Fatui enemies in Genshin Impact, and you will receive the Vitalized Dragontooth once the battle is over. All that is left to do from there is return to Orban, hand over the items to receive an Achievement, and collect the rewards.
